Why does Maxwell's raise funds?
Our unit's educational outreach and programming incurs costs well beyond what our membership fees cover. We have an ongoing need to raise funds in support of those efforts. If you are looking for a way to support our efforts, please consider donating!
Where will my money go?
Donations go directly towards covering the costs of our educational outreach and programming:
- We produce the Battle of Lain's Mill, an annual Civil War school-days and re-enactment event in Canisteo, NY. The Lain's Mill event engages several hundred local school aged children and their families each year. Significant funding is required to create the high-quality experience our patrons have come to expect.
- We produce high quality videos, info-graphics, and web-narratives that document and explain the Civil War histories we portray. These media are produced with today's classrooms and students in mind. They are costly to produce but greatly expand the reach of our historic preservation message.
